Catching Up

22 Weeks

Good morning! This has been a crazy week at work and in life in general so I am a little behind on my blog. Friday, Feb 17th, we all headed to Owosso to witness the wedding of GB and Krista. It was a nice, small ceremony and it was great seeing them both so happy. Burton was the best man which he was really honored to do. Afterwards, we went to dinner and the place we were eating happened to have karaoke...Bri's fave and she rocked a couple songs. It was a great night and a lot of fun!
Saturday, we visited some friends, went to Buy Buy Baby to purchase my much-needed pregnancy pillow then at 10 pm (I still can't believe I made it out for this), we went to a friend's 31st bday party until about 2 am. My sis says I am a party animal preggo. haha I guess we're just trying to do all we can before it is too hard with a baby. There were 3 other preggo girls at the party. 1 of them is due 5 days before me with a girl, another 6 days after me with a girl. I still think I am going to have a boy ssandwiched in there! ;) Here are some pics from the wedding.

Some more things from this week. I am now 23 weeks and this morning, I woke up to some big kicks so I put my hand on my belly and sure enough, this little soccer player kicked me. It was the coolest thing I have ever felt, but sadly, Burton was at his Saturday class and could not experience it. Hoping the little one does it again tomorrow morning or sometime today so he can feel it because he has been dying to.
All of our nursery furniture has come in and is sitting in the 'baby's room' in boxes. Next step is moving our bedroom downstairs and starting on the nursery. So fun!
My friend Stacy, due June 2 (with a girl!) and I started prenatal water aerobics this week. It's through our hospital and is called Aqua Moms which cracks me up. It was a good workout and a lot of fun. We'll go once a week. I love having a friend who lives close and is due close to me. We've already decided we will hang out all summer with the babes!
Today, as soon as BW gets home, we're going to Traverse City for a nice getaway. We're going to relax, eat and hang by the pool. Just a nice time to spend together before our lives forever change (for the better)!
I am off this whole week coming up for a much-needed mid-winter break. I plan to organize and downsize anything I can in the house so we can make room, then finish the registry and catch up with some friends for lunch. I have another week in April for Easter Break so my mom and I are flying to Cali to see my sister, brother, Harper, Bill and Justine. I can't wait to see how much Harp has grown since Christmas. I miss her soooo much!
I know this was a big update, but I feel like so much happens at once lately. Phew!
I will leave with these 2 quotes from my students that just melted my heart;
"Thanks for being here Mrs. Welte, you're going to be a really good mom!" and "Mrs. Welte, you legit look the same as before, but with a baby belly. You're still so skinny."
I love my kids! They make everything I do worth it. Not so sure about the skinny comment, but it did make me feel good even if I feel otherwise. haha
