Oh Baby!

The first official "bump" pic! 12w 2d preggo!

This was the best ultrasound experience. Baby Dub was dancing like crazy and actually looked like a baby. It was amazing! I was 11w 6d at this point. Isn't he/she so cute?! :)

As promised, I will be blogging the journey of my pregnancy! Here's my first entry.

Burton and I found out on October 7th that we were going to be parents and nothing has been the same since then! I had been feeling different. Not really sick, just tired and different than usual so I bought a test and came home, fully anticipating waiting for Burton to get home from work to take it, but lost patience and could not wait another second so I took it and right across the digital screen showed "Pregnant!" My heart started to race and I could not believe it (yes, we took 2 more when Burton got home). As soon as the Daddy-to-be got home from work (unknowing he was a Daddy-to-be at this point), I was waiting for him at the door with the part of the test that still read "Pregnant. " We hugged and were so excited. All night he just kept looking at me and saying "I can't believe you're pregnant!" It was an awesome night of pure joy.

The first trimester started off not so bad other than the exhaustion, but progressively got a little worse with a lot of nausea and debilitating exhaustion (could barely make it through the 6:00 news). Overall, I cannot complain too much as I did not get hit with a bad case of "morning sickness" or as a book I read called it "progesterone poisoning." The things that made me feel the worst, I was able to tweak a bit and move on. I have always had a keen sense of smell, but my goodness, my sense of smell is now likely to rival a bloodhound! That contributed to much of my nausea and is slowly getting better as second trimester has come around.

Telling all our friends and families has been so much fun and everyone is so excited about little Baby Dub (Baby "W" shortened). We are reminded daily how amazing God is and how blessed we are in many ways. This baby will have so much love in his/her life that it brings tears to my eyes to think about.

We are not going to be finding out if Baby Dub is a boy or girl so the excitement is going to continue to build until or around June 22!

Thanks for checking in on The Weltes + 1!

I love the idea that you are waiting for the surprise. I think that is the way to go..as there are not many surprises any more in this INSTANT GRATIFICATION world! I do remember how much fun it was to wonder with Scott what we were going to have......dreams and ideas and ultimately a SURPRISE!!!!
