Friday night I met up with Kate and we went tanning, to dinner and then to the mall for manis/pedis in preparation for the big day of shopping. We got up bright and early on Saturday, got Einsteins then headed to Lansing where we met up with my Mom and Burton's Mom and Sister Bri. We started off at The Wedding Bell in Okemos where I tried on lots of dresses I liked...one was a front runner, but we still had more places to go. We ventured over to David's Bridal where I tried on a few more, but none that I loved. After David's...we were hungry so we went to PF Chang's for lunch. YUM! After PF's was Fantastic Finds which is a very cool place. It is a house with over 30 rooms full of dresses. I found several to try on there and fell in love with one...but I kept thinking about the one I tried on at the Wedding Bell. We were on our way to Lett's...the last stop until we realized we read the map upside down and got a little lost then it hit me....no matter how many more dresses on tried on, I wasn't going to be happy unless I went back to the Wedding Bell and got MY dress. So, we headed back there, I tried it on again and decided I was going to get it and I did. I am not going to post any pics of my dress, but you will all see it on July 25! 267 Days! Yay!So, after we left, Kate was driving my car back to Detroit (to save her mileage) and she called me because the car got a flat tire! Yikes! My Mom and I drove to where she was and waited for the tow truck to come and change the tire for us. Sure made for a long day.
Overall, it was a wonderful day and I am so happy everyone was able to be there and I love my dress! To top off a wonderful day, our good family friends Dave and Darlene St. John stopped over and as we were showing Darlene pictures she asked me if I would like her to make my veil. I was originally going to ask her, but decided not to since both her kids are getting married next summer...but since she offered I definitely said yes because she is very talented and it makes it a lot more special when someone close makes it for you!
